Eva Ibbotson

After reading 5 of the assigned books, I can't wait to see places often referenced in the Ibbotson tales. King's Cross Station, castles, and maybe we'll meet a few ghosts! Definitely there is something about British writing, especially for children, that reference the unseen world, fantasy creatures, and the threatened environment. I don't think Judy Blume could write as intricate a tale as our British authors! I am also impressed with the character development in each of these books - children are far more intelligent than some of the greedy, shady, and dysfunctional adults in the stories. If you have not started reading these, enjoy! A few could actually be fun parenting manuals on how NOT to raise a spoiled child. See you in a week! JEN
